Today was an awesome day. I finished Baby Mario!!! Prints and the original can be found here. Baby Mario was inspired by Yoshi’s Island. I love this game and the beautiful intro music box theme, I would love to have this song in a real music box. This weekend was also the NYC Comic Con, I went to panels, played games, and saw a lot of amazing art. I can’t wait to go again next year!
We’ve also been having some great fall weather and when I think of fall I think of pumpkin. I baked this Martha Stewart Pumpkin Cake with Brown Butter Icing at 1am on Friday Night! A little late to be baking… but I needed a late night weekend snack. This cake came out pretty amazing, really moist and delicious.
I’ve been really inspired lately to work on many new papercrafts. I made these Super Mario enemies of Chomp, Piranha Plant, Goomba, and Koopa Troopa after a marathon of the New Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo Wii. Prints and Originals can be found on our etsy.
I have on my desk a unfinished Baby Mario, who will soon be finished after I cook something delicious. I’ve been addicted to this Martha Stewart Baked Pasta with Chicken Sausage. I tweaked the recipe a little, I use Trader Joe’s Jalapeno Chicken Sausage, mozzarella instead of fontina, basil instead of baby spinach, and about 10oz of Trader Joe’s Gluten Free pasta. I like the more sauce to pasta ratio.
We recently shot a short video for our new favorite Android app, LifeMeter. We’ve been testing it for quite some time now, an honor we won after assailing the enigmatic Phantom Fighter from The Food Sucks with an array of tasty baked goods. No small feat as his palette is *incredibly* refined, and his honesty can be cutting (ask Chuckles). Imagine cooking for Thomas Keller. You get the picture.
The app allows you to place highly customizable life meters inspired by games like The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim on your Android phone or tablet. You’re gonna lose life, might as well do it with style.
Check it out, we hope you like it as much as we do.
